Does Profotonet use colour management?

Are you a professional photographer, looking to test how our printers handle colours? Read on to find out more.

Profotonet works with its own ICC profiles. We automatically convert to these into our most up-to-date profile, when you submit files in sRGB, Adobe RGB and ProPhoto RGB. So, in principle, you don’t have to do a thing. Please note! Submitting files in CMYK format (print colours) can yield unexpected results. We therefore strongly discourage this.

Are you a professional photographer, looking to test how our printers handle colours? Here’s what you do:

Simulate the colour rendering of your photo prints

• Make sure your monitor is fully calibrated. Without a properly calibrated monitor you won’t attain accurate colour rendering. Testing with a colour profile won’t do much good in this case.
• Install the profiles below on your computer.
• Open the photo you want to test the colours of in Photoshop, or another photo editing software package.
• Go to View > Test settings > Customised … and select the right profile under Device to be simulated .
• Click on OK to then click on View > colour test prints (CTRL+Y) to enable or disable the proof.

Please note: Never use Assign Profile. This function is only meant for files for which you know the colour space they were created in, but that don’t have a profile attached to them.
