When you want to hang your wall art, choosing the right hanging system is essential for a secure and aesthetically pleasing result. Depending on the size and weight of your photo or wall art, you can choose between two hanging systems: the mirror hanging system or the aluminum profile. Below, we explain which option best suits your needs and why choosing the right photo hanging system is so important.

Mirror hanging system and aluminum profile

For hanging your wall décor, we offer two hanging systems: the mirror hanging system and the aluminum profile. The main difference lies in strength and material use. For lighter materials, a mirror hanging system is sufficient, while the aluminum profile is better suited for larger or heavier wall décor.

Mirror hanging system

Simple and sturdy for lighter materials

The mirror hanging system is a practical and robust choice for prints on lighter materials, such as polystyrene and Forex. This system is suitable for both large and small formats and offers an easy solution for hanging wall art. The mirror hanging brackets are securely attached to the back of the photo or print, and two spacers are placed at the bottom. These ensure that the panel hangs at an even distance from the wall, creating a clean and professional look.

While the mirror hanging system is ideal for lighter materials, we recommend an aluminum profile for heavier or larger formats, such as Dibond or Plexiglas.

Aluminum hanging profile

The luxury option for heavier wall art

The aluminum profile is the most luxurious option we offer and is perfect for larger and heavier wall art. This aluminum profile not only provides extra strength, but also creates an elegant, “floating” look.

The aluminum profile runs around the entire photo, adding stability and ensuring that your wall arthangs securely and neatly on the wall.

In addition, we recommend the aluminum profile for hanging photos on Forex or polystyrene that you plan to display for a longer period of time. Without this profile, the material may warp in some cases due to temperature fluctuations or changes in humidity.

Aluminum profile for photos behind Plexiglas

For photos on Plexiglas, such as direct printing or a photo behind Plexiglas, the aluminum profile is the only available hanging system. Plexiglas is a sturdy material, but without an aluminum profile it may warp. The profile reinforces the Plexiglas panel, ensuring the photo hangs straight and securely. This makes the hanging system essential for this type of print.

Choose the right hanging system for your wall art

For hanging your wall art, we use two types of hanging systems: the mirror hanging system and the aluminum profile. Which system is used depends on the size, weight, and type of material. Lighter materials such as Forex or polystyrene can be safely hung using a mirror hanging system. For larger or heavier wall art, such as Dibond or Plexiglas, we standardly use an aluminum profile for extra strength and stability.

This ensures a safe and neat hanging solution that will last for years. Please note: for a photo behind Plexiglas (both direct print and photo print), the mirror hanging system is not an option. Due to the weight and the risk of warping, an aluminum profile is always used in these cases.
