For professional photographers
Are you a professional and would you like to test how our printers handle your colours? Read on below.
Profotonet works with its own ICC profiles. When you submit files in sRGB, AdobeRGB or ProPhotoRGB, we automatically convert them to our most recent profile, so in principle you don’t need to do anything yourself.
Please note: submitting files in CMYK (print colours) may lead to unexpected results. We therefore strongly discourage this.
If you are a professional and want to test how our printers reproduce your colours, proceed as follows.
Simulating the colour reproduction of your photo prints
- Make sure you have a properly calibrated monitor. Without a calibrated screen, colour reproduction is not reliable, and testing with a colour profile makes little sense.
- Install the profiles listed below on your computer.
- Open the photo you want to test in Photoshop or another photo editing program.
- Go to View > Proof Setup > Custom… and select the correct profile under Device to Simulate.
- Click OK. You can then toggle the proof on and off via View > Proof Colors (Ctrl+Y).
Note: Never use Assign Profile. This function is only intended for files where you know the colour space in which they were created, but no profile is embedded.
