How is the size of my photo print determined?
The size of your photo print depends on several factors, including standard paper sizes used in the photo industry and the aspect ratio in which you shoot. Below, we explain how the final size of your photo print is determined.
Standard paper sizes
Historically, photo paper sizes were calculated in inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). We convert these measurements to whole centimetres. As a result, the actual paper sizes may differ slightly from the rounded sizes commonly used. For example, a 10 × 15 cm photo print is actually 10.1 × 15.2 cm.

If you’d like to order non-standard sizes (for example, to fit a specific photo frame), this is always possible. You’ll need to edit the image beforehand using photo editing software such as Photoshop, and you may need to trim it yourself after printing.
As long as you follow the steps below carefully, almost anything is possible:
Open the photo in Photoshop.
Use the Crop Tool to crop the photo to the desired size or aspect ratio.
Go to Image → Image Size and enter the desired dimensions (for example, 20 × 25 cm).
Go to Image → Canvas Size and set the exact paper size (for example, 20.3 × 30.5 cm).
Make sure Relative is unchecked and set the canvas extension colour to white. If the photo already has a white background, choose a different colour to keep the distinction clear.
Please note: Photo paper was traditionally measured in inches. We convert these measurements to whole centimetres, which means the actual dimensions may differ slightly.
Order the photo in the size that corresponds to the canvas size you set (for example, 20 × 30 cm). You’ll receive the photo with a white border, which you can then trim to the exact size yourself.
What are the exact dimensions of a photo book spread?

Dimensions (including 3 mm bleed):
Size: 15 × 15 → spread size: 15.6 × 30.6 cm
Size: 15 × 20 → spread size: 15.6 × 40.6 cm
Size: 20 × 20 → spread size: 20.3 × 40.0 cm
Size: 20 × 30 → spread size: 20.3 × 59.6 cm
Size: 25 × 25 → spread size: 25.4 × 50.2 cm
Size: 30 × 20 → spread size: 30.1 × 40.0 cm
Size: 30 × 30 → spread size: 30.1 × 59.6 cm
Size: 30 × 40 → spread size: 30.1 × 79.8 cm
Size: 30 × 45 → spread size: 30.1 × 88.7 cm
We also offer ready-made templates for use in InDesign or Photoshop. You can find these here.
How can I change the size of my photo book?
You can change the size of your photo book to a larger or smaller format within the same photo book type and with the same aspect ratio. For example, you can change a 15 × 15 Premium photo book into a 20 × 20 Premium photo book.
It’s not possible to change:
a 15 × 15 Premium photo book into a 15 × 15 Premium Plus photo book, or
a 15 × 15 Premium photo book into a 20 × 30 Premium photo book.
In the Album Designer, click Edit product in the toolbar and select the desired size. This allows you, for example, to order a smaller baby photo book based on the same design as a wedding album.
How can I order multiple photo sizes at the same time?
We’re often asked: can I order different products, sizes or paper types in one single order?
Absolutely — and it’s very easy. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Choose your files.
Step 2: Select the photos you want in a specific size.
Step 3: On the right-hand side, choose the product, size and paper type or finish you want, then confirm by clicking the red Add button.
The items are now added to your shopping cart. You’ll see a number appear on the cart icon, and the selected settings will also be shown in green next to the files.Step 4: Select the other files you want in a different size or paper type and repeat these steps until all desired photos have been added in the correct formats.
Step 5: Click on the shopping cart and complete your order.
Can I add a white border to my photos?
Yes, you can choose the white border option when placing your order by selecting “White Borders (WB)”. The border is approximately 5% of the chosen photo size. The photo paper itself does not become larger; instead, your image is printed slightly smaller on the paper.
White borders are applied when the letters WB are shown with the selected product. If these letters are not visible, the option may only appear after clicking “order this size”. In that case, go back, select “WB” first, and then click “order this size” again.
